Dr. Shailesh Kumar

Dr. Shailesh Kumar is
presently serving as Associate Professor-cum-Senior Scientist at Dr. Rajendra
Prasad Central Agricultural University and has been actively engaged in
teaching, research, and academic administration for the past 19 years. He is
widely recognized for his contributions to the fields of Plant Physiology,
Environmental Science, and Climate Change Biology.
Dr. Kumar obtained his B.Sc.
(Agriculture) degree from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and subsequently
earned his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Plant Physiology from Indian
Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He has also qualified both the
prestigious CSIR-NET and ICAR-NET examinations.
Throughout his academic
career, Dr. Kumar has been teaching Plant Physiology and Environmental Science
courses at the undergraduate level, and advanced Plant Physiology courses at
postgraduate and doctoral levels. His areas of research specialization include
plant abiotic stress physiology, climate change biology, and molecular plant
physiology.
Dr. Kumar has successfully
guided several Ph.D., M.Sc. (Agriculture), and B.Tech. (Biotechnology) students
and has made significant contributions to agricultural research through
numerous scientific publications, book chapters, manuals, and books. He is an
active member of several professional scientific societies and serves on the editorial
boards of reputed national and international journals.
In recognition of his academic
excellence and research contributions, Dr. Kumar has received several awards
and honors from esteemed institutions and scientific organizations.
